Our Services

The idea of Raising Ralph began with a conversation with other moms with children on the spectrum. We all saw the gaps with finding information about how to treat an autism diagnosis, programs and services we needed for our kids and most all the gaps in special education. Together we want to raise awareness, shatter the stigma of autism and provide support to families just like us.

While we are a newly formed organization, created in January 2020, Raising Ralph has many ideas, visions, and aspirations -- all aimed at supporting the autism community. We are working diligently to hit the ground running and are sharply focused on the necessary fundraising to get our operations started.

Raising Ralph Inc. will offer the following Program Activities to the
Prince George’s County community and surrounding Washington Metropolitan areas.

Early Intervention Support

The Early Intervention Support Program will assist parents and caregivers with assistance in finding resources and referrals to service providers for early intervention services such as speech pathology, occupational therapy, counseling and other types of therapy. This information is available in a guide, free to those who provide contact information to download the guide.

Parent Support Groups

The Parent/Caregiver Support Program will host events geared towards parents and caregivers to those living on the autism spectrum. Creating a place to decompress, be expressive and receive encouragement and support to navigate this journey. Providing tools and mechanisms for relieving stress, expressing emotions positively, and receiving support and encouragement.

Autism Kids & Siblings Events

The Autism and Siblings program would host events for families to share in activities in a judgement free zone. It will promote inclusion and family fun in all activities. Due to Covid-19 these offerings will be done virtually and will also offer in-person when the restrictions and local health departments deem it safe to do so.

Autism Culture Sensitivity Training (Future Offering)

The training would instruct employers how to interact with and manage employees on the spectrum or dealing with other neuro conditions. It will provide tips on how to promote inclusion, education, awareness and support.

Fundraising & Charitable Events

The Fundraising Program will host various types of fundraising events to support our organization but also to support other community programs, public school programs and the greater community. The funds will help run our organization and keep special needs programs servicing our communities. Most large scale fundraisers will be held quarterly. However, our t-shirt fundraiser will run throughout the year with the release of a new t-shirt design quarterly. The proceeds for these events will be used to fund the organization's daily operations and fund program activities.

The Importance of Inclusion
Our son may not be able verbalize how it makes him feel to be left out but you can see it from look on his face when kids act as if he is invisible. As a mom it breaks my heart to see him watch kids and want to engage but struggles with the “how” to interact with them…
